Nicolas Schiappacasse is a great find on Football Manager 2016 and can be purchased for around ￡1 million. His finishing attributes improve relatively quickly and after just one season ranges between 12-19 which is excellent for a 16-17 year old.
The striker is best used as a poacher and his physical attributes are excellent. His decisions, long shots and acceleration start to compete with the finest players on the game and he is well worth waiting for (especially for such a cheap price).

Oxford is one of the finest young central defenders on FM16 and his marking, composure, anticipation and strength are exceptional for a player of his age. The player is available on loan but if you’re a side that is reputable enough to lure him away from West Ham then I recommend buying the English centre back.

Sergio Diaz is available for under ￡1 million at the end of the 2015-16 season (or before) and is another Football Manager 2016 wonderkid. The player has been linked with Roma and Chelsea in real life and is extremely highly-rated across Europe.
Diaz is best deployed as a poacher and if you gently ease him into your first team setup he will grab goals. He can also play on the left side as an inside forward but I found he wasn’t as effective in that role. The Paraguayan’s runs off the ball and nimble agility make him a handful for defenders.

7. Thiago Maia

Position: Defensive Midfielder

Thiago Maia is one of the best defensive midfielders on FM16 and can be purchased for a relatively cheap price. A bid of around ￡8 million can lure this Brazilian midfielder to your side and he will repay that price with a string of world class performances. He is best played just in front of the central defenders but deployed as a DMC rather than a deep-lying playmaker or Regista.
His tackling, technique and anticipation are to be admired and at just 18-years-old you will have a real superstar on your hands after three or four seasons. If you don’t purchase Maia relatively early then you will be looking at having to reach deep into your pockets and pay around ￡30 million for his services.

Probably the most recognisable name of this list is Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard. The player burst onto the scene last year and was added into Football Manager 2015 aged just 15 after gaining permission from the player’s dad. This year the Norwegian attacking midfielder means business and despite being valued at ￡3.2 million he is very difficult to purchase.
Annoyingly Real Madrid will constantly have the player listed for loan but his development becomes stagnated therefore even if his rating isn’t too high it’s still worth paying big money to bring him to your club (where you can give him a lot of game time and get the best from him).

5. Breel Embolo

Age: 18
Club: Basel
Position: Striker/Number 10
Value: ￡5m
Breel Embolo is one of the best attackers on Football Manager 2016 and you simply have to buy him as soon as possible. You can sign the player for around ￡11 million in the 2016-17 season and you won’t regret it. Blessed with exquisite dribbling skills, flair and stamina Embolo creates a number of key chances and will grab a number of goals and assists.
The 18-year-old’s value will increase if you do not act fast and he is normally priced at around ￡30 million after the 2017-18 season.

Quite possibly the best attacking midfield starlet on Football Manager 2016, Matheus Pereira is someone you should certainly look to sign as early as possible. The player is rated at ￡26k at the beginning of the game and he simply becomes phenomenal around 2018-19.
If you do persist and hold off until he establishes himself then you can expect to pay around ￡11-15 million for his services and will have to hold off stiff competition from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea. The player’s technique, flair, passing and physical attributes are mind blowing come 2018.

Lee Seung-Woo is a product from the famous La Masia academy in Barcelona and the club mainly look to loan their South Korean wonderkid in order to give the player some first team action. Seung-Woo really starts to develop in the 2018-19 season and you should look to sign him before then or Barcelona will start to integrate him into their first team set up.
The attacking midfielder is a long shot specialist and has excellent agility, technique and decision making and is best used behind the striker as part of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1.

The player suits a 4-2-3-1 formation playing as a central midfielder and will keep your squad balanced as well as contributing to a number of assists. If the Gunners keep hold of him then he will be rated at around ￡10 million come the 2018-19 season.

Aged just 16, he can be plucked out of Portugal relatively easily and if you nurture his raw ability then you should reap the rewards come 2017-18 (and he actually played well during my 2016-17 season also). If you don’t buy him early then you will have to fight off stuff competition from a host of top sides and will be expected to pay around ￡30 million for his services.
